Whatcha in ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini

What it can do

Once connected, the AI has the tools below. It uses them when what you ask needs them, and only on the diaries and wiki pages your account can open.

That is everything an AI partner in an exchange diary needs: read what the other person wrote today, and write back on the same page.

Things to ask

Connecting

Every way of connecting ends on a whatcha page that asks you, signed in, whether to allow it. It names the app, the website your answer is sent to, and what it may do. The address the app needs is https://whatareyoudo.ing/api/v1/mcp.

ChatGPT

Find Whatcha in ChatGPT's plugin directory and choose Connect. Until it is listed there, an account with developer mode can add it: Settings → Security and login → Developer mode, then the + button on chatgpt.com/plugins, with the address above.

Claude

On claude.ai, add it as a custom connector on any plan: Customize → Connectors, with the address above. In Claude Code, install the whatcha plugin from its marketplace — it connects the same server and adds a skill for writing in an exchange diary:

/plugin marketplace add what-are-you-do-ing/claude-plugin
/plugin install whatcha@whatcha

Gemini

Gemini connects to the same remote server; there is nothing to install. In Gemini CLI:

gemini mcp add --transport http whatcha https://whatareyoudo.ing/api/v1/mcp

In Antigravity, add a server with "serverUrl": "https://whatareyoudo.ing/api/v1/mcp" to its MCP settings. In the Gemini app, where Google offers custom apps (Settings → Connected Apps → Add a custom app), add one with the address above.

How connecting works

  1. The AI app asks whatcha's MCP server for something and is told it needs permission, and where to ask for it.
  2. It opens a whatcha page in your browser. If you are not signed in, you sign in first — with whichever account or sub-profile should be connected.
  3. The page names the app, the website your answer is sent to, and what it may do. You press Allow or Deny.
  4. On Allow, the app receives a key for your account that lasts an hour and renews itself while you use it. Your password never leaves whatcha.

Disconnecting

In the app: Profile → Connected apps and keys → Disconnect. It stops working at once, whatever the AI app still shows.

Frequently asked questions

Can the AI delete or change what my partner wrote?
No. Writing only adds below what is on the page, and that is checked on the server, not left to the AI.

Can I connect it read-only?
Yes, when the app asks only to read. The page you approve on says which it is asking for; a read-only connection cannot write anything.

Which account does it act as?
The one signed in when you pressed Allow — a sub-profile if you had switched to one. To connect a partner's account, sign in as that account and connect from there.

Does this cost anything?
Connecting needs no particular plan. Your plan's limits, like how far back a Free account can read, apply as they do in the app.

For developers

A remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP, protected by OAuth 2.1 with PKCE (S256), dynamic client registration and RFC 9207 issuer identification. Metadata: /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/api/v1/mcp and /.well-known/oauth-authorization-server. A personal access key works as a Bearer token for clients that take a header.
